The men's team of the CAB has already started preparing for the 2015-2016 season, and after a week of intense training. The coach, João Paulo Silva, already has an idea of the group of athletes that will have their availability, as well as the sports potential of the group. “After a week of intense work, the team revealed a dynamic and competitive attitude that demonstrates how we want to be in all competitions”, said the technician to the Official CAB Site, clearly satisfied with the way the working group has responded to the challenges presented. Foreigners reveal quality An important factor in the team's sporting performance is the contribution of foreign athletes. During the summer, the Friends technical team devoted a lot of time and attention to the choice of non-Portuguese players, and, according to the coach, the prospecting work was well done and the three chosen players – Alex Marzette, Michael L’Africain and Arvydas Gydra – are matching what is required of them. “The framework of the new athletes has gone very well, not only with regard to the content we want to see applied in the game, but also at the level of creating a team spirit that always values the collective action,” said João Paulo Silva, noting, “Although any more rigorous evaluation is still premature, the truth is that at the end of the first week of work we are very satisfied with the quality they have revealed.” Young athletes have been up to it The younger athletes on the team have also been the focus of special attention from the CAB technical team. Tiago Oliveira, Pedro Passalacqua, João Pedro Fernandes and Henrique Cunha, all from the layers of Formation of Friends, are trying their affirmation at the highest competitive level, and, so far, João Paulo Silva is pleased with his response. “We have done a gradual accompaniment of younger athletes who, as a result of their dedication, have also given good indications for a future more active participation in the team,” said the coach, who thus leaves a message of encouragement for the formation of the club, especially the male sector, which has been accompanied by the leader of the male team, always hoping to integrate more young Madeiran talents into the professional team. Future Looked With Hope Although they still have a lot of preparation work ahead of them, the men's team at the CAB looks at the time that is coming with confidence. Aware that it does not hold the financial arguments of other clubs and that it has to deal with challenges that others do not have, as a result of the condition of insularity, the CAB sees in its working capacity the main argument to fight opponents. This feeling is echoed by the team’s coach, who notes, “We are building a very competitive team that guarantees us a permanent fight for victory in every game we have.”
