This week, the CAB men's team faces a demanding double journey. On Friday, Friends travel to the Azores to measure strength with Lusitania, while, on Sunday, the CAB receives, in the CAB Pavilion, the formation of the Maia, a very competitive team, but which desperately needs points in order to remain at the main level of male basketball. The two games will require of those commanded by João Paulo Silva a great sense of surrender to the game and union. However, in addition to the value of the opponents, the CAB faces two more obstacles, namely the weariness of a long journey and the accumulated tiredness from participating in the final phase of the Cup of Portugal, in which it went until the end. On the eve of the meetings, the CAB Official Site reached the conversation with the CAB coach and asked him for a preview of the games. Here we leave his words: “Ensure presence in the playoffs as soon as possible – this is the main objective for this weekend’s double journey. Lusitania and Maia are the two teams that we will face with the clear ambition to win both games.” “We are in a process of recovery of some players, due to the great effort spent during the participation in the final to eight of the Cup of Portugal. However, I believe that everyone will be ready to contribute to this double commitment.” “The knowledge of the teams is very strong and we are therefore developing a preparation based on strengthening our defensive aggressiveness and, on the other hand, maintaining good performance in offensive terms. Collective dynamics has been one of the great references of our team, thus compensating for the absence of some elements in determining games.” “We will go to the Azores with the ambition to ensure once again the victory over an opponent who has also demonstrated a good competitive attitude and thus has contributed to the high level of the games. On Sunday we received in our pavilion the Maia team that fights to ensure a favorable position for their stay in the League.” “I express the wish that our supporters can once again make their contribution to the team through their presence in the game against Maia and following the meeting in the Azores. Be with us!”
