The Board of Directors of the CAB and the Board of Directors of the SAD announced the renewal of the contracts of coaches João Pedro Vieira and João Paulo Silva as coaches of the Senior Female Team and the Senior Male Team, respectively. For João Pedro, it will be the third consecutive year ahead of the Amigas sports designs. João Paulo Silva will serve his second season followed by the male group. The renewals of the ties of technicians arise in a very natural way. Both João Pedro and João Paulo Silva are references to the history of Friends of the Basketball, a club where they have built curricula that speak for themselves, not only as coaches, but also as players. The entire institution identifies them as indisputable symbols of the CAB's mysticism, and therefore as the most suitable people to lead the projects of the teams representing the club and Madeira at the highest competitive level. In statements to the CAB Official Site, João Pedro Vieira expressed his happiness for another year of commitment to the CAB, noting, “It is with great satisfaction that I have recognized my work with this team in the last two seasons, in which I helped the club win four competitions. So I accepted the challenge of being ahead of the team for one more time, where I hope I can continue to bring more titles to the CAB.” Without stretching over the period 2015-2016, even because dialogues still take place with several players with a view to the formation of the squad, João Pedro Vieira gave voice to the ambition that motivates the female squad, observing, “I hope to be able to build a team with a lot of ambition to win.” In another record, João Paulo Silva stated that “The agreement with the club was achieved in a very natural way due to the desire expressed by both parties. I will continue to represent the club for which I have a great sentimental connection and it has a very important meaning for me.” About the next season, the male team coach points to new challenges. “We will certainly consolidate some of the elements that we work and adapt others according to the team we build. We are currently working very hard to get everything ready in due course. The desire is to move on to new challenges and seek to increase our competitive ambitions.” About the dynamics of the 2015-2016 Male CAB, João Paulo Silva reveals that there is “a strong cohesion of ideas between the technical team and the CAB leaders, we know what we are going to and want, once again, to make the CAB one of the most competitive teams in the League. I am naturally satisfied with this commitment and will do everything to raise the prestige of the club.” As is traditional in the senior teams of the CAB, the growth of the senior team will be done in line with the development of the club's youth layers. “We will continue to value the involvement of our training by preparing them for future team integration,” João Paulo Silva said, concluding, “I am always attentive to the work developed by young athletes.”
