After a less stable season beginning, the result of successive injuries to players with greater responsibilities within the squad, the women's CAB team regained its stability and winning rhythm. In fact, after the defeat of the inaugural game of the championship, in front of GDESSA, the CAB won all the games in which it participated, demonstrating a very interesting competitive rhythm. To guide a squad with various solutions to the different positions, João Pedro Vieira is a happy coach, but also aware of the expectations that fall on the working group that leads. In a year-end interview with the Official CAB Site, the leader of the Friends looks forward to the future with ambition and aims to offer the club the title that it has pursued for a decade. This year, unlike last year, the CAB Women's Team did not strengthen itself in the Winter Market. Are you satisfied with your team? After a period of time with many injuries, which greatly conditioned us the construction of our game model, making the dynamics within the field very difficult, our team gradually found a playing wire that is intended to be the right one to win titles. Right now, and even though we're not complete yet, because we don't have all the players recovered and 100%, I'm very pleased with the team we have. I think we are balanced and with various solutions in all positions. What are the best moments of the first round of the championship? It's hard to choose isolated moments. However, the team's reaction to adversities (injury) and watching players taking advantage of the opportunities they are having for me is very rewarding. Winning away teams like Sportiva and Lombos are also and always good times. What lessons did the team learn from the first round and how will they use them in the second round? I think in the second round, the players who play in the Women's League for the first time already know what awaits them in the field. The defeat with GDESSA and other more balanced results we have made also serve as reminders of how we have to train and play if we really want to win titles. Is the game calendar of this season more demanding than last season? Unfortunately, and for financial reasons, every time we play out, we do double-driving, which makes it very difficult to prepare the second game. But this is a situation we are already used to. The calendar, whatever it is, for a team like the CAB, is always demanding, because we are that team that all teams want to win. What kind of CAB can we expect in 2016? I sincerely hope to be able to present in the field a CAB more closely, more dynamic and that will make less ‘turnovers’. We want to be a team that demonstrates in the field the ambition to win through a great attitude, where all players put the collective ahead of the Individual. Who would like to leave the CAB FAMILY for the New Year? We will do everything to give the CAB FAMILY the title that, 10 years ago, runs away from this club, which is that of national champions. For this, we also liked that whenever we play in our home, in Nazareth, our partners, athletes, coaches and general public will come to give us their support. To all, the best of 2016!
