This Saturday, the CAB conducts a campaign of collection and oil and olive oil, in partnership with the Red Cross. Taking advantage of the game between the men's team and the Vitória Sport Club, the Basketball Friends will not charge any monetary value by entering the game, asking only that spectators contribute 1 liter of olive oil or 1 liter of oil. Those who prefer to pay the access ticket can also do so, in the certainty that the funds raised will also be used for the purchase of oil and olive oil. According to the information advanced by the club, oil and olive oil are two goods that, although necessary, are not easily raised in the collection campaigns carried out by the Red Cross. The initiative that will be carried out in the Saturday game aims to help the Red Cross fill this gap, enabling the raising of oil and olive oil from the partners, sympathizers and supporters of the CAB. To the CAB's Official Website, Francisco Gomes, chairman of the Board, observes, "Over the past two years, the Red Cross has helped us in a food delivery campaign that we chose to do discreetly at Christmas times. As part of this campaign, we already support more than 150 families with first-class goods. This time, it is the CAB's turn to help the Red Cross collect goods, such as oil and olive oil, which will help enrich the help given to hundreds of Madeiran families." For the leader of Friends, "I trust that the CAB FAMILY will be able to live up to this initiative and make a contribution so that other people with less possibilities can have a happier Christmas. I don't believe that solidarity should be done only at this time of year, but I believe that this, like all other opportunities, is good for us to affirm the social role of the club and help the Red Cross support those who need it most."
