The CAB team played the Women's Basketball Super Cup in Carcavelos. TAP's strike made it impossible for the friends to travel on Saturday, the day for which the game was initially scheduled, forcing the ones commanded by João Pedro Vieira to play the game in the opponent's enclosure, Quinta dos Lombos, due to the apparent unavailability of no other field in the entire area of the great Lisbon. The game began with the two teams demonstrating balance, but also nervousness, failing several releases and committing, side by side, some loss of ball without release. Despite these departures, after five minutes of play, the Madeirans were ahead by 2-8. After a time-out requested by the formation of the house, Lombos reacted, but the CAB's response was not long. Supported by the inspiration of Joana Lopes (3 caveats, 4 assists), Ashley Bruner's marking capacity (10 points) and a good defensive attitude (which limited Loins to 25% of implementation in field launches), the Amigas reached the end of the first period ahead by the result of 9-18. In the second period, Lombos entered determined to take the reins of the match, but the initial moments were very similar to the first minutes of the first period, with several failed releases on both sides of the field. Unfortunately for the CAB, Carolina Escorcio and Carla Freitas, two of the references of the Madeirans, reported their third and second faults, respectively, which would limit their way of playing until the end of the meeting. More conditioned on the defensive aggressiveness it had shown so far, the CAB gave itself the best to maintain the punctual difference from the Lumbos. An unnecessary lack of anti-sports to Carla Freitas when she was four minutes away from the break did not help, at all, the task of the Friends, who began to see the house team approaching the marker. By the end of the period, Julie Forster's trio, Ashley Bruner and Joana Lopes gave renewed energy to the CAB game, allowing Madeirans to win the period by 17-18 and reach the interval in front of the marker by 26-36. After the interval, the CAB led in the achievements (23 against 14), in the percentage of use of the releases (44% against 30%), and in the points marked in the area near the basket (24 against 12). In the loss of the ball, the teams were tied (15 to each side), but, in the attendances, the friends were also ahead (8 to 2). The game started again with Loins scoring eight points, with no response from visitors. To the merit of the formation of the house contributed the enormous apathy of the Friends, who, in addition to being defending badly, were clearly devolved and losing ball after ball whenever they attacked. In the face of this devastating scenario, Coach João Pedro asked for a time-out, hoping to 'awake' her players to a different performance. However, his effort was not matched, and with five minutes in the third half, Lombos tied the match to 37-37. When three minutes left to play in the third period, Loins moved forward, registering 40-38 on the scoreboard. The Amigas began to accuse, too nervous, and, in addition to having Carla Freitas and Carolina Scorcio with four faults each, a technical fault mentioned Joana Lopes came to sentence, even more, a third period of authentic nightmare for the CAB. The CAB lost its third half by 18-8 and entered the last ten minutes with the game tied to 44-44. In the fourth period, the two teams scored four points each, and, with two minutes elapsed, the game was tied to 48 points. In the chapter of the launch of the three points, the Madeirans were still clumsy, failing their ninth consecutive attempt. Despite the weak performance in the long-distance launch, the CAB remains fierce, especially in the fight for the jumps and marking of points in areas closer to the basket. Still, Lombos didn't give up, and with three minutes to play, the date was still tied, but this time at 61 points. With two minutes to play, Carolina Escorcio and Carla Freitas were excluded from the match by accumulation of fouls, a destination that unfortunately had already been foreseen since the beginning of the second period. Despite being much more conditioned, the Friends continued to fight, and with 22 seconds to the end, tie the game to 65 points, an unsuitable ending for hearties and female basketball lovers. The result remained until the end, which forced the next game to extend. In the stretch, the CAB was 'enormous', with the players who were playing giving a real lesson in what it is to surrender to the defense of a shirt and a symbol. Our girls were examples, they were heroines and they were proud of everyone who knows what it's like to feel the CAB. With 1:30 minutes to play, the CAB was ahead for 68-71, but a basket converted by the Loins after three failed releases took the marker to 70-71, with 45 seconds remaining at the timer. Joana Lopes and Ashley Bruner, with consecutive baskets, were able to lead the CAB in 70-75, with 30 seconds to play. Lombos is still coming back, but the afternoon was CAB, who won and won the seventh Super Cup of his story! Long live the CAB! Long live the CAB! Long live the CAB! In individual terms: Joana Lopes (14 points, 12 points), Marta Bravo (12 points), Julie Forster (17 points, 15 points), Ashley Bruner (23 points, 15 points), Leonos Nunes (3 points, 2 points), Carla Freitas (6 points, 3 points).
