The Board of Directors of SAD has just announced the hiring of player Diogo Ventura. The athlete, who played in Sampaense last season, is pointed out as a promise of Portuguese basketball, having already accumulated a significant gaming experience in the Men's League, not only at the service of the previous team, but also at the service of Algés, club that represented in 2013-2014. As a note of curiosity, it is noted that Diogo Ventura is the son of Pedro Ventura, who played in Madeira, at the service of the Union, in the eighties. In Friends, Diogo Ventura will meet Bruno Cavalcante, whose father, César Cavalcante, also played in Madeira, but at the service of the CAB. The parents maintained a friendship that will now be reedited by their children, Diogo and Bruno. In statements to the CAB's Official Website, CAB's coach, João Paulo Silva, expressed his confidence in hiring the Portuguese base, noting, "The Diogo Ventura has been allowing better management in the possible rotations in the team. Promising player in the base position, Diogo has the possibility to grow on the CAB team and eventually become one of the best players in this position.” For the future, João Paulo Silva revealed confidence in the possibilities of the young athlete to achieve important milestones, either collectively or individually, according to the Madeiran coach, “I am convinced of its quality and, depending on how to work, can stay in Madeira for a few years. Diogo has had an upward journey and will certainly continue this walk in the CAB. I know your individual challenge is to be able to represent national selection. In the CAB, involved in a collective work environment, this purpose can very well be achieved.” José Correia will continue to defend the colors of the CAB. The club and the athlete reached an understanding that enabled the extension of the contractual bond for another time. Remembering that the athlete was trained in the schools of Friends and comes to thicken the lot of Madeiran athletes who are part of the CAB senior team, which already includes Carlos Bettencourt, Miguel Mendes, João Pedro Fernandes, Gonçalo Miranda, Tiago Oliveira and João Bazenga.
