The women's CAB team this afternoon played the first match of a double journey, which only ends tomorrow when the CAB faces the GDESSA team. In today's match, the Amigas faced the formation of Sporting, a very interesting team that strengthened during the winter market, so the game presented itself with the ambition to defeat the Friends. The formation of the CAB won the first period by 14-16, however the dominant note was the balance between the two formations. The slight superiority of the Madeirans was essentially due to their greater presence in the interior, and this proves the gap between the two teams in the chapter of the caveats (10 gained by the CAB in the first half, against only 5 of the Lisbons). In the second half, the CAB returned to the game badly, and, after four minutes, Sporting led by 24-21. The CAB tried to react, but it showed a lot of mismatch at the time of launching the basket and also a lack of concentration. To prove this, the Amigas failed a lot of pitches (at the interval, 43% of completion in the throws) and committed several losses of ball (at the interval, 8 registered losses). Nevertheless, a rip from the Madeirans in the last minutes of the period allowed them to collect from the locker room to win by 28-33. On return to the game, the CAB team demonstrated greater aggressiveness in defensive tasks, as well as greater effectiveness in organizing the attack. With merit, the Friends won the partial by 10-21, reaching the end of the third half by 38-54. In the fourth half, the superiority of the CAB was once again very evident (7-14), with the Madeirans confirming the triumph by 45-68. In individual terms: Cintia France (5), Rosinha Rosario (7), Joana Lopes (3), Marta Bravo (6), Carolina Escorcio (3), Ejay Ofomata (11), Aleighsa Welch (13) and Britany Miller (20). The men's CAB team received the Azoreans from Lusitania in the regular phase of the Men's League. The game had a special character for the Madeirans, who wanted to start the twist in the less positive wave that has affected the team. For this, Friends expected to sell the visiting team and celebrate the victory before their audience. The game began best for visitors, who won the first period by 18-25. The second period was much more balanced, the result of a more aggressive attitude of the CAB in the attack and a more cohesive defense. Nevertheless, the Azoreans won the partial by 20-22 and collected the locker rooms in front of the marker by 38-47. On the return to the game, the CAB showed a lot of desire to win, winning the partial by 22-19. The fourth period began with the Lusitania ahead by only six points (60-66). However, visitors gave a very strong replica in the last 10 minutes of the meeting, recording a partial of 9-31, which determined their victory in the game by 69-97.
