The end of 2016 of CAB senior teams is being marked by a wave of injuries that may force club leaders and SAD to analyze the market for available athletes. At the moment, in all, there are five players and players who are unable to make their contribution to senior formations, some of whom will not play this season again. Two casualties on the Men's Team. In the male sector, Carlos Bettencourt is absent due to a knee injury. The athlete will have to undergo surgery, which will affect his contribution to the League team and also to the sub-24 team, which competes for the Senior Regional Championship. At the moment, it will not be known whether Bettencourt will be able to put on the game sweater again by the end of the season, but the entire Friends Clinical Body is working to make such a return to activity possible as soon as possible, without ever endangering, of course, the integrity of the player and his full recovery. Also away from the competition is Bruno Cavalcante, who left the club for personal and family reasons. The player asked the Administration of the SAD for its untying, which accessed the athlete's pretensions due to the force of the arguments presented. In fact, the player did not return to Madeira after the interruption of Christmas and no longer enters the accounts of Coach João Paulo Silva for the rest of the competition. Three casualties on the Women's Team In the female sector, the picture is even more complex. Marta Bravo is out of the competition for uncertain time due to a knee injury. The player will not have to be operated and is already undergoing physical therapy, but her return to the fields is still dated. In a similar situation is player Inês Ajanovic, who, like Marta Bravo, also injured herself in the knee, a fact that made it impossible to participate in the last games played by Friends before the break of Christmas. The player is currently undergoing intensive treatment with daily reviews of her recovery. Coach João Freitas does not know when he can count on the athlete '100%', something that causes some apprehension due to the proximity of the Federation Cup, which will be played in Coimbra, from January 6 to 8. Worst luck was Simona Podevova, who was seriously injured in the last game performed by CAB before the formation of Lombos. The Czech athlete contracted serious damage to the ligaments of the knee and will have to be operated, a fact that definitely takes her away from the competition and the club's options until the end of the season. Changes are being considered "no dazzles" Faced with all these constraints, the club and SAD leaders are looking at the available players market to find out if there is someone with the profile needed to fill the needs generated by injuries and forced removals in senior teams. To the CAB's Official Website, Francisco Gomes, president of the CAB, observes: "We're looking at the market very carefully. The task is not necessarily easy, not only because of financial constraints, but also because we are looking for athletes with very specific characteristics, who fit into the spirit of a group already cemented in the male and female squads, but we will not give up our pestematism or go into dazzlement." That said, according to Francisco Gomes, "It is natural that senior teams present some changes in early 2017, which do not, of course, result from technical options of the club, but from unforeseen situations and deeply unpleasant for the organization. Their aim will always be to guarantee coaches and working groups the necessary conditions to fight for the goals set and to honor the club they represent at the highest level."
