The CAB entered the fourth game of the semi-finals with the awareness that only victory mattered, because a new outlet meant the end of the season for the formation of Madeira. To this end, the CAB knew that it had to improve in two chapters in which it had been less well in previous games, notably in the highlights and in the external release. On the opposite side, Academica entered the field knowing that the game was not decisive for the formation of Coimbra, thought to which the ‘advantage’ of playing at home, before its audience. The two teams played most of the first 10 minutes with a more conversational posture, as if they were ‘measured’ each other. However, in the second part of the first period, the CAB was bolder and managed to build a superiority over the opponent. This was due not only to the exterior shots of Fábio Lima and Jorge Freitas, who was finding the basket, but also due to the exploration of the inner game, especially through João Guerreiro, who contributed important points and points. At the end of the first period, the advantage was CAB for 17-21. In the second period, the CAB came in better and seemed determined to increase the advantage over the home players. Signs of this were Jaime Silva's accurate releases, which seemed to return to the game style that inhabited us. However, Academics did not let themselves go down and responded, keeping the advantage of Friends at the very least. Unnecessary CAB ball losses allowed Academica to jump ahead of the marker, however, Jason Smith and Shawn Jackson’s ‘bombs’, as well as Jorge Coelho and Jose Coego’s good inner game were not enough for Friends to maintain superiority in the marker. It should also be noted over the second period that the CAB was particularly badly defensive. Proof of this is the 30 points that the Friends allowed the Academic to score in those 10 minutes, which is, in fact, a lot. The interval came with the result in 47-46, favorable to those of the house. The return of the locker rooms was more achieved by friends who entered the field with a more aggressive posture than the athletes of the house. Although errors persisted in chapters where the CAB usually does not fail, especially in the realization in areas near the basket, a greater presence in the caveats and a stronger posture in the defense compensated. On the opposite side, the Academic seemed less concentrated and less sure of herself than in the previous two periods, but far from the encounter. The third period ended with the marker in 65-70, favorable to the CAB. In the last period, Academica was determined to reduce and overcome the advantage that the CAB had built in the previous period, thus avoiding ‘black’ in Madeira. That's what happened when there were five minutes left to finish the game, when a triple of Academics set a 76-point draw. From then on, the game, which was already being intense, became a real game of nerves. In the last moments of the meeting, the coldness of the CAB prevailed and its ability not to get involved in the strong emotions that the game generated. A triple of Jaime Silva when the game was 83-86 iced the Pilhao de Coimbra and brought the 'black' to the Inferno da Nazaré. The game ended with the scorer in 83-89. The invitation is now to the entire FAMILY CAB and basketball lovers to come and do the Inferno da Nazaré at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the CAB pavilion. OUR CLUB deserves it, and we have to be there, helping our men's team make it to the final. If that happens, the Men's Team will write a beautiful page in CAB history. Individual records: Jason Smith (29, MVP of the meeting), Fabio Lima (10), Jorge Coelho (10), Jose Coego (13), João Guerreiro (6), Jaime Silva (8), Shawn Jackson (8), Jorge Freitas (5).
