Sub-16 Females compete National Cup of the echelon

On the 24th and 25th of this month, Saturday and Sunday, our team of Under-16 Females will compete in the XVII National Cup of the echelon. The teams led by Luisa Montes join three other teams - GDESSA, Valongo and União Sportiva - in the competition for the most prestigious title of the echelon, facing competition with optimism and confidence. The games will take place at the Luis Carvalho Municipal Pavilion in Setubal. According to the calendar already released by the Portuguese Basketball Federation, the first game of young friends will be held at 6 p.m. on the 24th, with Valongo's team as an opponent. In case of victory, the CAB will face, in the final, the winning team of the game between the Sportive Union and the GDESSA (which will be played at 4 p.m. on the same day). It should be noted that all the expenses related to the participation of the CAB in the national competition will be borne by the families of athletes, who, throughout the year, carried out several initiatives to raise funds for the trip, including lunches and raffle sales. Thanks to these efforts, the team has been able to gather the total amount of money needed for travel in a real example of teamwork. The CAB entourage will be led by coach Luisa Montes and leader Rita France. In addition to the games provided in the National Cup calendar, the CAB will perform a training game of preparation in order to give Madeiran athletes some more competitive rhythm, something they lack due to the lack of a regional championship of the echelon.
