The participation of CAB's women's sub-16 team in the Intermedia phase of the National Championship of the echelon began in the best way, notably with a victory over the formation of GDESSA for the result of 58-61. However, the balance was the dominant note, with the winner to be decided only after extension. The game began best for the Madeirans, who won the first half for 11-14, but in the second half, the continentals were superior and imposed themselves on the islanders for 16-8, collecting the interval in the leadership for 27-22. On the return to the game, the CAB was again better, winning by 9-15 and recovering the front of the scorer (36-37). However, in the fourth period, GDESSA again won (18-17) and forced the game to extend. In 'extra' time, the friends were stronger and outnumbered by three points (4-7), but it was enough to win the game and celebrate an important moment, namely the transition to the Final Phase. Given that in the game that GDESSA has previously played against Coimbra Olivais, it has also lost, the CAB team has already confirmed its presence in the Final Phase of the competition, which will be contested next weekend. What remains to be decided now is whether the CAB will move to the next first or second stage of this phase, a situation that will be clarified only after tomorrow's game, precisely against the formation of the Coimbra Olives.
