It is already this weekend that the CAB Pavilion receives the Portuguese Cup Final Four from women's basketball. The four teams cleared for the final phase are the Sportive Union, Good Travel, Vagos and CAB, which is the host club. This final phase, which happens again in Madeira after eighteen years of interregno, promises to be a beautiful event for Madeiran and national basketball, as well as a unique opportunity for fans of the sport to see close up some of the best teams in the country. In calendar terms, the final half will be played on Saturday, with the CAB facing the Sportive Union at 3 p.m., while the Good Trip will measure forces with the Vagos at 5 p.m. The final is at 3:00 on Sunday. All entrances are free. On the eve of the big finals, the Official CAB Site reached the talk with Taj McWilliams, who asked for a preview of the game against Sportiva. Here we record the words of the American Friend pole: "Final Four is a great event for us, for CAB supporters and for all of Madeira. We really wanted to be the host team of these finals so we could show the beauty and sympathy of the island to the whole country, as well as the great family spirit that defines our club. With regard to our team, we wanted a stage where we could show that we have the ability to be competitive against the best teams in the country, and with luck and determination, this Final Four can be that stage." "This will be a difficult tournament full of surprises. No team has any advantage over the others. On the contrary, all teams leave on an equal footing and the one that can accumulate two wins will end with the title of Portuguese Cup champion in women's basketball." "We are preparing to face the team of Sportiva, which is a very strong formation and has a very dynamic basis in the person of Jhasmine Player. She's an almost unstoppable force on the basketball field, and it's going to take our entire team acting in unison so that we can limit their ability to score easy baskets. However, the remaining players of Sportiva also have to be contained if we want a chance to win the game. Our defence must be able to repeatedly counter the attacks of the opposing team and score points in transition situations. It will be a very difficult game that we want to win as much as Sportiva." "We have a trio composed by Maria João, Marta Bravo and Carla Freitas on which will be responsible for stopping Jhasmine. Lately, as a team, we have been playing at a higher and more competitive level than before, so we want to maintain our performances. With all our injury-free players, we want to play a great game, not just for us, but for all of Madeira."
