The fifth day of the CAB Tournament was the time to return to the games and competition. The CAB Pavilion was small for the thrill of the games that decided the great finalists of the XVI CAB Tournament. In the morning, in field 1, the SIMECQ and Gaia teams, in the sub-16 male ranks, measured forces, with the result falling to the northern team by the result of 51-59. In field 3, Algés and Ovarense, in female sub-16s, offered a different and more levelled game, with national champions taking Ovar girls by the expressive result of 102-36. After lunch, the semifinals began. In field 1, in the sub-14 class of women, SIMECQ and Francisco Franco competed in the final of the echelon, with the continental team stamping the passport for the Saturday game with the result of 91-28. In field 3, at the same level, Galomar pushed the CAB team away from the final, beating the Friends by 47-56 in a game played until the last minutes. Therefore, SIMECQ and Galomar will be winning the 16th CAB Tournament tomorrow. Then it was the turn of the sub-16 male class to meet the finalists. To this end, in field 1, CAB and SIMECQ faced the victory to belong to the CAB for the result of 79-67. In field 3, Francisco Franco and Gaia also fought for their presence in the final, with the victory belonging to Gaia's formation for the result of 43-37. In the following round of games it was time for the male under-14s to decide who would go to the final of the tournament. To do so, in field 1, CAB and SIMECQ repeated the half-final of the sub-16s, with the victory to go to the home team and the result of 61-49. In field 3, Gaia “B” and Francisco Franco offered an animated game with a lot of rhythm. In the end, the person who won the right to be in the final was Francisco Franco for the result of 22-79. At the end of the day, the top four women's sub-16 teams played high-quality technical and tactical matches, allowing for a very bright future for national women's basketball. In field 1, the Algés team won the formation of Ovarense by 71-32. At the same time, in field 3, CAB and SIMECQ also competed for a place in the grand finale, with the victory falling for the young Madeirans for the result of 58-33. Tomorrow, the four finals of the tournament will be played and the champions of this year's CAB event will be known. The games start at 10:30 and are scheduled to end at 8. At 9:00 p.m., it will be the award-winning tournament teams, 3x3 teams and MVPs from each of the competition teams. The ‘Athlete CAB 2012/2013’ will also be distinguished, which is the highest award offered by the Club's Board to one or a athlete from the Club's Training and which distinguishes the work developed throughout the year by that athlete in three specific areas, namely attendance to training, school course and sports commitment.
