The CAB Tournament will serve as the stage for the launch of an initiative pioneer in basketball. In the great event of the Formation of Friends, the Organization will test the 'Fair-Play Card', a distinction that aims to recognize the athletes who distinguished themselves most during the match, practicing acts of despotism, solidarity and camaraderie. According to information advanced by the Organization, at the end of each game, the referees of the match will deliver to the athlete who revealed more sportsmanship during the match a white card, which is 'Fair-Play Card'. This card will be held by the athlete throughout the event, and can be hung on the tape that will be made available to all participating athletes and where will also be placed the pass for the Tournament meals. At the end of the competition, the athlete who has received more cards or who gathers the choice of the referees of the Tournament will receive the Fair-Play Award, in recognition of his contribution to the values of Deportive Ethics. "This is an initiative that aims to value the good corporate, ethics, camaraderie and sportsmanship," said João Pedro Vieira, one of the Tournament coordinators. "We believe that, just as athletes are punished with fouls when they violate the rules of the game, they should also be recognized when they make a contribution to the ethical principles that should guide the competition. That's why we created the Fair-Play Card and we hope that it will be welcomed by the participants," he concluded.
